Today’s post is short and sweet, but I wanted to share something of great value.

First of all, I know that Comment links aren’t the strongest types of links, however, it’s important to know that a complete link profile is one that has links coming from diverse locations.

My thoughts are, “if you’re going to get comment links, then why not get links with some power behind them”.

4 Steps to Getting Great Comment Links

STEP 1: Download and Install Moz Bar (it’s free)

Moz bar provides a quick way of checking Domain Authority (DA) and Page Authority (PA) in the search engines. This allows you to tell if a website can provide a strong backlink to your site.

STEP 2: Use the following search strings in Google to find places to leave comments:

**Replace the red text with the niches that you are interested in leaving comments at. **

dog training “This blog uses premium CommentLuv” -“The version of CommentLuv on this site is no longer supported.”

dog training “Notify me of follow-up comments?” “Submit the word you see below:”

STEP 3: Pick places with good Page Authority to leave comments

Any site with a Page Authority over 25 should be fine. Domain Authority is a bit less relevant for this type of links since your link will not reach the home page of the site.

STEP 4: Leave a Comment

Basically you need to read or skim through the article, leave a relevant comment, and input a link to your site.

Getting Links on EDU and GOV Sites

After experimenting a bit, I also came up with a way to find great places to leave comment links on EDU and GOV sites. There are probably other ways to do this, but these strings seemed to work best for me.

Now over to you. What search strings do you use to find places to leave links?
